MEDICAL EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS
FOR MEDICAL OFFICES

We provide training and consultations to medical offices for emergency medical care preparedness. Patients seeking care in physician’s outpatient office can experience a medical emergency while at the office. Such emergencies can include cardiac arrest, respiratory difficulty, seizures, and sepsis. While the outpatient office cannot be equipped like an emergency department, medical care must be delivered until the arrival of emergency medical responders, such as an ambulance.

The components necessary to have an effective in-office medical response to emergencies includes proper equipment, education, training, and procedures. Our company provides all of these services for your office preparedness.

  Equipment
We visit your office to determine the physical layout of the office and the current availability of emergency medical equipment. As each office has a unique floor plan and design, we customize your plan based upon the individual office needs.
  Education
Your staff must be educated in the types of emergencies to expect and the priorities of management for the patient experiencing a medical emergency. Crucial is the ability to recognize the presence of a medical emergency, particularly for office staff that may have the initial contact with a patient presenting in the reception area. We tailor our education for the various medical training of the office staff and medical staff.
  Training
We provide in-office training with mock scenarios at your office’s convenience. The training sessions are short and designed to identify the strengths and challenges of caring for an emergency medical patient in your office. The training is done at your convenience of time and participation; however, we recommend that the training be incorporated into a normal work day rather than schedule during non-routine hours such as weekends or holidays.
  Procedures
Our training will identify clinical procedures and protocols for your office to develop or refine in preparing for an in-office medical emergency. We can identify clinical procedures that your staff may need additional training and can recommend sources to obtain that additional training.

Our company will provide you with a comprehensive assessment of the ability of your office to respond to a patient emergency. We will provide implemental recommendations on equipment, medical supplies, and office staff training.

Contact us for a free in-office consultation about our services. Our services will be customized to your needs, the needs of your staff, and your patients.
